Loved the book . It had a lot of information that I didn't know about
My greatest memory of the Beatles is watching A Hard Day's Night (1964) over and over again. As for this book, Richard Buskin is a world expert on the Beatles and fans will be very pleased to add it to their collection. Even for people who thought they knew everything there is to know, think again. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this fabulous book and will be recommending it highly to others.
This is a fun book to read regarding the Beatles starting from their beginning. Great for a quick guide starting with the beginning of the group. Loaded with interesting facts and information. Love Eric Cash's illustrations though out. So many books out there either just hit on one topic of the Beatles or take forever to read. This is a great go to book to read about the important points of their careers. Highly recommend.

That's EXACTLY what Beatles 101 is about perfect place to start, or a quick reference guide to Who, What, When, Where, and Why. Eric Cash's illustrations are brilliant - the perfect book for Beatles fans of any age!
This is not a "Beatles for Dummies" style read. On the contrary, while the author's knowledge of Beatle history is sufficiently broad, perusal of any one chapter (more on that in a bit) makes it clear that it runs deep as well.
Fans of the various Beatles (and solo) FAQ books out there, notably those authored by Robert Rodriguez, will find this volume's format fun and easy to digest. Rather than reading as a history or novel (and abandoning strict chronological confines), the chapters are divided up by topic - Beatles on film, their family lives, and even chapters dedicated to key figures in the story, such as George Martin and Brian Epstein. As alluded to earlier, each covers "the basics" but goes miles beyond as well. Exclusive interviews with Martin and other studio insiders lend added muscle.
With all the huge tomes out there over the past year, it's refreshing to make something less daunting than, say, a 500 or 1000 page commitment. For added fun, noted Bealtes artist Eric Cash (whose work many fans will recognize from the annual FEST for Beatles Fans and as published in other well-known and respected books) is on board with some great illustrations peppered throughout the pages.
Where the bands 1962-1970 era is covered exhaustively in countless tomes, the legacy years and associated releases (BBC, Anthology, etc) are typically given the short shrift; not so the case here. Indeed, the coverage extends right through the second volume of radio releases that appeared toward the end of 2013. Fittingly, there are summary appendices with "at a glance" histories of the chart performance of the various US and UK records.
Strikes a nice blend of "reference" and "readability". Employing the 3rd "R" ...... recommended.
Being lucky to have lived through the era of the BEATLES I am pleasingly surprised to learn so many new thing about the "fab four". This guy Buskin sure knows his stuff and the pics bring it to life. Fans old and new will love it.
Just found out it is also in paperback. Will buy it for a friends birthday.
